Polymers 2025

Ivaylo Dimitrov obtained his PhD in Macromolecular Chemistry in 2001 from the Institute of Polymers, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Afterwards, he held three postdoctoral positions – at the Max Planck Institute of Colloid Chemistry in Germany, at the University of Massachusetts in USA and at the Danish Polymer Centre of the Technical University of Denmark. Since 2018, he is а Professor at Institute of Polymers of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Prof. Dimitrov has an expertise in living and controlled polymerization techniques as well as in highly efficient coupling reactions enabling the precise synthesis of novel and well-defined multifunctional copolymers of various architecture. His research interests also include the design, preparation and evaluation of functional polymer-based (nano)materials for biomedical application in targeted drug or DNA delivery and for energy-related applications in fuel cell and supercapacitor devices.
